OUR APPROACH TO DEMONSTRATING
MEASURABLE SOCIAL IMPACT FOR BUSINESS
Chapter One won the Enabling Technology Award at the Social
Value Awards 2024 in recognition of the reach and scale of our
Online Reading Volunteers Programme in 2023-24. The Awards are
presented by Social Value Portal, the UK’s leading online tool that
helps organisations prioritise and measure their social value when
they procure, or pay for, major services.
Businesses increasingly recognise their power to
create positive change in communities. Through
Chapter One, our corporate partners transform lives
while delivering measurable social value - the wider
benefits they generate for society and the economy.
Many of our partners have committed to the UN
Global Compact, aligning their social impact with key
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our reading
programme directly supports SDG4 - Quality
Education, helping companies make a tangible
difference in children's lives.
The award judges recognised how Chapter One’s technology offers
a time-efficient, flexible model for online volunteering while
seamlessly integrating with schools and classroom life. It also salutes
how our platform enables us to provide real-time reporting to our
corporate partners on volunteering hours, plus an end-of-year report
on impact, detailing the reading progress of the children supported
by their employees.
